Electrochemical Sensor Node (Hosted by the University of the Western Cape)

The Electrochemical Sensors node will provide capabilities and techniques to be able to manufacture low cost electrochemical sensors. This includes design, synthesis and analysis of organic and inorganic electroactive ‘smart’ nanomaterials as well the fabrication of chemo- and biosensor electro catalytic systems/devices. The equipment and capabilities available at the node will typically support researchers in various groups in SA to design and develop prototypes of electrochemical sensors for application in water quality, food security and agriculture. The extensive expertise available within the University of the Western Cape on various aspects of electrochemistry will be widely available for academia and industry making use of the NMMF node.
