Biosensors Node (Hosted by the University of Stellenbosch)

The Biosensors node will allow for the manufacture of integrated biosensor-based devices that typically detect pathogens and biomarkers in various samples such as water, blood and urine. Following the development of a biomarker, typically in faculties such as medicine, health, or biochemistry, the NMMF Biosensors node will be able to assist in the development and manufacture of a low cost, disposable device that incorporates the biotechnology. The Biosensors node will also play a role in integrating technology developed in other nodes, and it is expected that this node will collaborate closely with other nodes in the further development of manufacturing technology for diagnostic development.
